I want to know because I have to write about this ( referring to me) but I don't really understand this topic so I was wondering if any of you could give me an example or help me out

I consider a frivolous "lifestyle" as one that is wasteful in someway, a lifestyle that has no purpose and in which one wallows in stagnation rather than rises above herself. Such lifestyles invariably lead to depression, substance abuse and psychological isolation. Vegetating, watching television or playing video games all day, overeating, focusing on superficial appearances, focusing on self-serving agendas rather than on agendas that empower others, letting your mind rot and not actively learning about the world around us by exploring / reading / studying / etc., gossiping, tearing others down, submissiveness / passivity / apathy / cowardice and so on are frivolous behaviors.

I would say frivolous means "wasteful" in whatever way you think. LIke buying something frivolous is something you didn't need but just wanted it and if you put it on a credit card, that probably wasn't a good out come. If you live a frivlous sexual lifestyle, there can be many prices to pay for that. And frivolous is relative, which I think would make a great subject. What is frivolous to one, is not to another. LIke some gals insist on getting their nails done every month and paying like $20, in the 50's that would have been considered probably STUPID !! All about style, times, values. I think it boils down to what is important to one, or what one has a lack of, Say you are short of time, and should be getting your laundry done and you choose to talk on the phone for 3 hours, that might be a frivolous waste of time, if you are short on money, spending it on expensive ice cream might be frivolous, It might depend on what you are short of, and it could even by like an athlete with physical energy, I think they say no sex the night before like an Olympic performance, that would be frivolous. This seems like a philsophical question. Is what is frivolous to one person not frivolous to another?
Is it asking what is a frivolous lifestyle to YOU? I guess to me, a firvolous lifestyle would be someone who "wastes", or doesn't appreciate much. A sloth who sits on the couch everyday and watches TV....everday. And does nothing else. No personal communication with anyone...just watches TV and eats food. The ramifications? Well.....I guess there might not be any, since this person might not have friends or family to begin with? What if he enjoyed watching TV? I don't know if this helps you or answers the question but thats my reply for ya.
