I'm thinking of becoming gay; is there any kind of procedures I need to follow or should I just get to it?

The homosexuals I've known became that way because of either frustration in obtaining sexual release or favors from the opposite sex, or are coping with tremendous personal hurts. Some "choose" because of social pressures when their behavior does not fit the stereo-typical norms. Some "choose" because of a rebellion against a distant, oppressive, or abusive parent.
A lot of the "gay" people, as the term is used in recent decades,* are compensating for a tremendous amount of personal pain or sadness.
If you are just going to jump in, be aware that many have some emotional baggage and issues that you might not share. Obviously this doesn't apply to EVERY one, but you might be surprised at how many hurt people are in the crowd.
*A little over half-a-century ago and more, "gay" was the heterosexually promiscuous.

First of all hun, you can't just wake up one day and think your gay...everyone that is gay was born gay and thats that. There is no way to "become" gay that just doesnt happen. Theres no guideline or book like being gay for dummies. You either feel an attraction to the same sex or you don't. ..

you can't "become" gay, either you are or you're not. You can chose to open up about your sexuality and find support groups if you are coming out but that is not "becoming gay".
