It would be preferable if you could list the types of freedoms to which you refer. Do you mean the freedom to yell "Fire!" in a crowded moviehouse, inciting a panic which could lead to people's deaths? Or to be in a position of trust and the freedom to abuse that trust and lie to the people who put their faith in you? The freedom to become so inebriated you cannot walk but want to get behind the wheel of a 3,000 lb rolling hunk of metal? The freedom to accuse someone of treason with no evidence to back it up?
What we strive for in the US is "Responsible Freedom". I know we (or at least our leadership) haven't shown a whole lot of responsibility for the last 7 years, but in our defense, we trusted people in positions of authority and they pretty completely betrayed that trust and used our confusion and fear after the attacks to invade Iraq and involve us in a quagmire it will be years to get out of, in an effort to promote some ulterior agenda.
It would make the most sense to presume that ulterior goal is securing the rights to the trillions of barrels of oil under Iraq's deserts, oil Saddam Hussein (the only leader in the Middle East we knew for SURE wouldn't harbor al Qaida or Osama bin Laden while Hussein was in power), had so stubbornly refused to sell us (so we were told). I have a feeling (no evidence to support it, maybe I'm channelling a Republican here) if Iraq's leadership would just sign Shell's contracts, the water and power would be restored to Baghdad within a week.
So we do have freedom, but it comes with more vigilance than most regular Americans have the time to expend on it. So many of our jobs have been taken to other countries, so many full time jobs no longer provide enough money to live fairly eaily on, itnow takes at least 2 and sometimes 3 jobs for a family to pay the enormous expenses Americans are forced to pay for necessities to an kid of decent quality of life?
When you DO finally get home from working 16 hours, the last thing you want to hear about is how some cowardly deferment-taking radio talk show pundit called Army Rangers actually fighting and dying in Iraq "phony soldiers".
And yeah, he has the freedom to say thos evile things, just as we who oppose that type of hypocracy have the freedomt o denounce it, as often and as loudly as we can, for they are surely opposing us as often and loudly as THEY can.

Because you have the opportunities to make something of yourself. You have the right to voice your opinion, regardless of how vile it may be. You can practice whatever religion you like legally.
Of course, it also means others can comment on your choices, on your sex, religion, politics, etc because they have the right to do so.
Travel to some truly "non-free" countries and you'll see how good Americans really have it.

These things are relative. Compared to most of the world today, or most of human history for that matter, we're astoundingly free.

You have obviously confused "Freedom". . .
with "free handouts". . .
Typical public school mistake.
You're expected to earn what you get here and not expect Hillary to take it from someone else and give it to you.
