My family has longevity on both sides of the family...the ones who eat healthy live longer than those who don't. My mother's side has extremely low metabolism...perhaps that is why the aging process was so sloooowww. On my Dad's side, I think it was genetics and stubborn-ness. All-in-all, both sides of the family look at least 10 years younger than their true age, unless they smoked, or drank coffee and/or alcohol...or obliged their appetites for food. Oh yes...none of them were from the Mediterranean. Most of them live according to the health principles of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.

As far as health concerned we are all different. And would love to stop here, but because I cannot help rambling on and on a bit more than I should about something that I am not at all qualified in, is too hard to resist. I am convinced drinking green tea (as the Japanese would regularly) and eating a balanced diet with exercise is essential.....(and I should probably do more but I do make some sort of effort bit slack lately, although I just did a whole hour walk. I am however paranoid about disease, so if I noticed an unusual symptom I would look up appropriate herbal remedy or food with detox properties to help relieve it, and crack on with more exercise, using the alternative medicine rather than trust any doctor, from bad aftercare experiences.) Very recently I stumbled upon a regeneration treatment called Deep Cell Detox basically it helps removes poisons in the body from mercury, aluminium, pesticides etc...this would help prevent diseases like Parkinson's and black seed oil treats it. I am going to get some as I have Mercury amalgam tooth fillings and have been exposed to toxins before now, as most of us have. Plus I was more recently moved to keep on top of health after my sister in-law has been very ill after getting over-prescribed Chemotherapy, where all her white blood cells died and was therefore rushed to hospital. Even though she was on a Cancer ward they never recommended green tea nor advised her to eat healthily, and even do a half an hour of gentle exercise, as far as I know. A healthy diet of fruit and vegetables some helpings of protein including, Green Tea will help replace white blood cells after Chemotherapy. She has only just recovered and is in the process of having more awfully dangerous Chemo' and this will go on for another shocking five months. All I could do for her at the time was supply her with a stash of green tea all different flavours from the very basic, and some health food. Gawd if these people get away with hair loss they have faired well I don't envy them, poor women.

I believe it is a genetic factor. Here is the scary part....only the women on both my Mom's and Dad's sides of my family tree have the longevity gene......The women live until their late 80' and 90's, and the men not so much....I think diet and alcoholism played a huge factor in the men killing themselves off early. Maybe the women in my family are just a really stubborn bunch.
Peace.

The factors in my family were diet(fresh farm vegetables), hard work and spirituality. There faith was perhaps the most contributing factor to their overall health and longevity.
