You are totally right. The wild have a great team this year with a awesome goaltender. they are now 7-0-1(koivu-yes.....) they have a great chance. If they make it to ottawa it might get close.......but they will still win the cup then i will go to the parade.....

The wild has shown the most consistency of any of the recent expansion teams in the arena of gradual progression and team building. They are making the right moves. And obviously are being competitive. Kudos to their front office and management. That being said, the NHL is so competitive that just because a team is a “Top 5” team of the league for 5 years (give or take), doesn’t guarantee the S/C (and the Wild are not a Top 5 team yet). the playoffs are the second season. We’ve seen that time and again. A great team during the regular season hits a hot team and goes down in flames. It’s about momentum, timing, chemistry, longevity, goaltending, avoiding injuries, etc. (and some luck). Do the Wild have a “decent” chance (however you want to define that)? Sure. But it’s so hard to predict. They’re making the right moves, but they need to get some grit in the postseason and get the hunger. After all, several other great teams have been waiting longer and have had more disappointments and are JUST as hungry, if not more.

Playoffs, yes... Stanley Cup... No. WAY TOO EARLY in the season... Also, look at their early schedule... The only Wild win against a playoff team was against Anaheim... else they had Chicago, Columbus, Edmonton, Phoenix, L.A., St. Louis, and Colorado. they've also had a very mild schedule w/ only one back-to-back game. Wait until they start playing some tough teams on the road before giving them the cup.
Most Wild fans are OK... fair, smart, with very good hockey knowledge... but for whatever reason, their seems to be a inordinate amount of cry-babies behind the Wild as well.

Last year, the Minnesota Wild were 9-1-0 after 10 games. The Wild were the best team in the West until November November 17th.
Yet,
They finished 7th in the conference
They lost in the first round
So, in my mind, they had a better start last year and did diddley-squat.
I picked them for 8th in the conference this year, and I'm sticking to that prediction.
By the way, how can the Wild be winning 2-0 in the third period when the 2nd period ended 2-2? Some of us have the internet, televisions, and radios to protect us from idiots like you!

The Wild are definitely an elite team in the Western Conference. My only concern has to do with their special teams. They're spending too much time in the penalty box and still struggling on the power play.
Stanley Cup? They've got a good shot.

Pretty good. A high scoring team with great defense and amazing goaltending I can see them hoisting the Cup. But lets keep this little secret between us and send me a thousand dollars....I have a great bookie who will give us 20:1 odds so you are looking at a cool twenty grand payday. You can thank me later but remember this should be just between us or the odds could go down....you wouldnt want that would you?

Maybe they look like a great team as of now but all teams go on streaks and if they hit on at the wrong time it could hurt them so we will have to see what happens for the remaining season and it is a long one.
