I can only speak for myself. When I was growing up, we saw people from all walks of life and always treated them all the same. Maybe that's the answer.... Learning when you're young that people are all the same and that differences are okay. Just my thoughts.

Because open minded peole are usually the ones that can be open hearted as well . Open minded people look beyond the walls of their own self and can see a brighter horizon . Their vision has more expansion and they are able to appreciate others for being different, Unfortunately there are others who will be close hearted and close minded and refuse to open up the high walls of ignorance , hatred and even ineptitude at times to spread out their wings and catch a glimpse of sunlight in the rainyness of their pessimism and closed mindedness that can eventually lead to intolerance and persecution if not held in check.

Sometimes it is good to be open minded but there are going to be some people who don't like it. I'd rather people be open and honest with me.

Depends on the education they have received from their parents, the schools, the friends, life experiences... I feel it also depends on courage and self-confidence as people are scared of the unknown and don't want to be seen in a different light than what they are used to. Therefore, when you aren't scared, you are opened to new things, people and customs.

I dont really know but my friend says that the persons who has done already......... they have a mind way more open tnah people who are still virgins.

Different situations some people very narrow minded remember the old saying when younger narrow waist broad minded but over forty broad waist and narrow minded. every ones out look is different.

Because some people didn't get very much love and affection growing up...
The ones who got "brainwashed" with fear and trepidation, and corporeal punishment, and were abused, sexually or otherwise, got...
Warped...closed minded...walled around themselves...fearful...start away uneasy...distrustful...the more the "lack" of love and affection...the more closed-minded they are...
I got lucky...my parents showered me with open-minded love, affection, trust, and respect...so...
I'm very darn open-minded....
But all the people I know who aren't...
Tell horrible childhood tales of abuse and neglect...
That's the "tie-in" I've noticed from experience...so I "trust" that observation to be accurate...
