Hi,
These problems are all solved the same way: Substitute the know value of the ordered pair into the equation and solve for the other unknown. Remember that the values are in this order: (x, y).
1) y=3x-5
a) (0,?)
0=3x-5...(Substitute the kinow value of x into the equation.)
5 =3x...(Add 5 to each side.)
5/3 = x...Divide by 3
(0,5/3) Replace the question mark by the value determined.)
b) (3, ?)
3=3x-5...(Substitute the kinow value of x into the equation.)
3+5 =3x...(Add 5 to each side.)
8/3 = x...Divide by 3
(3,8/3) Replace the question mark by the value determined.)
2. 2x-5y=12
a)1,?
2(1) -5y = 12...(Substitute the kinow value of x into the equation.)
2-5y=12
-5y = 12-2
-5y = 10
y = 10/-5...(Divide each side by -5.)
y = -2
(1, -2)
b)?,4
2x-5y=12
2x-5(4) = 12
2x-20 = 12
2x = 12+20.... (Add 20 to each side.)
2x = 32
x = 16...(Divide each side by 2.)
(16, 4)
I'm pretty sure you can do the last one now.

what is a and b? do you mean X and b?
y = mx + b
Do you mean the yint and xint?
if so, solve for when either variable = 0,
so if y = 0, the the xint is:
0 = 3x -5
5 = 3x
x = 5/3, which is the xint.
By the way, xint is x intercept and yint is y intercept. This is the point where the line crosses zero at the either point.

plug in the values of the coordinates. For the a and b parts, they want to know what the y coordinate is if you plug in the x value. So for number one, plug in 0 for x.
y=3(0)-5
y=0-5
y=-5
When they give you the y coordinate (the number after the comma) plug the number in for y.
