I statrted off wearing 24. Then moved to 19 when a new team had jerseys already made with no 24. Then during a tourney they gave us jerseys, no 19 or 24 so I used 17. I played really great in that tourney and have worn 17 ever since.

My favorite numbers are 1, 7 and 9. 1 because that is my baseball number, 7 because that was my first year hockey number and 9 because thats my hocey number last year.

When I played sports growing up, I liked #9. The one year I didn't wear 9 was in 1997, when I was on my high school's baseball team. I wore #42 to honor Jackie Robinson for breaking baseball's color barrier. So for me, it would be #9. Now if I ever played in the NHL for the Red Wings...I would be screwed!

I would wear #11 to honor Mark Messier for all he has done for the game, and if that number was taken, I would take #66 to Honor Mario Lemieux.

i suffer from the same condition that has plagued many hockey players, and by many i mean fulton from the mighty ducks movie, i can't skate. ergo, if i could, i would play hockey and insist on being number 13, bad luck be damned.
