Sometimes it helps for the wound to be open while you heal so air can get to it. If that's what your doctor did, then trust him and don't worry.

If the doctor won't close it it's because it will heal on it's own. I had the same problem with my first c-section. I split the stitches about 2 weeks after delivery and he closed them back up. But a few weeks after that they opened up again, and he refused to close them again. There was a little drainage from them but it went away and they healed fine. It too was on the right side. I wouldn't worry too much about it. If you were in any real danger, I would like to think your doctor would have addressed your problem already. Good luck!

They will often leave the wound open while the infection clears up. It's normal. Just follow doc's instructions. They should have given you information on what's normal and what's not, and if it is necessary to call the office or go to the ER. If you're not sure, call the office. They have after-hours answering services, and will have a doc call you at home.

i may be wrong on this but my thinking is it's open a bit to allow the infection to drain and clear up. If the docs closed it the infection would be sealed inside your body and would get far worse.........
ask them for a proper explanation as to why the right side is open

It's still green because it's still infected - the infection should be cleaned out and then the incision should be closed by your doctor. The doctor will not close it when it's still infected, that would cause it to spread. You should be cleaning it regularly and be on antibiotics.

I believe your Dr doesnt want this infection to spread inside of you.I would call and get an explaination because he/she should've better explained the situation to you.You do need a med to kill this infection so make an appointment to see you Dr, if you dont have something for this infection.Good luck:)
