In what way did the French & Indian War alter ideological relations between Britain and the American Colonies?

any help would be much appreciated. I dont really understand what ideological realtions are...i think thats why this is so difficult.

Britain wanted the American colonies to fight for their protection. The American colonies wanted Britain to fight for their protection.
The affair reminded the colonists that Britain thought of them as second class citizens, good enough to pay taxes but not good enough to have full privileges of citizenship.
