I can only suggest that not smiling for a long time may affect your mental health or emotional health or both. I love visual comedy I don`t like the term slapstick but I suppose thats what they call it, Laurel and Hardy do it for me every time, Fawlty towers also does it for me, John Cleese is tremendous so is Andrew Sachs as the down trodden manuel. The episode entitled the Germans I find gives me a belly laugh that infects the whole nieghbourhood I`m sure I`l have an asbo soon.

Usually with family it's asking for a family hug, or
else as with my carer it is just something funny off the top of my head, I don't like miserable faces so always try to make them smile if they are a bit down. It doesn't cost anything to make someone happy.

If you smile at them really creepy.. that always makes people smile.. but I'm assuming that's not what you're going for.

Make jokes, laugh, and smile. Smiling is contagious so soon enough others will be smiling too.

Just by being my usual goofy self. Also by doing something stupid. I am not downing myself. I know I can be really ditzy. I have had the nickname Jessica (meaning Jessica Simpson) for a while now. lol I really don't mind it. I make myself laugh sometimes too. In fact my boyfriend is always saying "you really crack yourself up don't you?" It's true, I do.

i love to give gifts for no reason to my friends and family. spontaneous acts of appreciation really cheer people up and it makes me feel good to give. a lot of times when i am feeling down, i just do something nice for someone else and it brings me back up.
