1) Outlaw lobbyists - They are a phone call away from our government leaders but have you tried talking to your senator lately.
2) No more career politicians- let them SERVE the country with the knowlege that they are doing it to better our government, not their bank account.
3) Really cap campaign contributions- The goverment has 5,000,00 tax codes so I am sure they can come up with a way of tracking contributors.
4) Eliminate pork barrel projects- A bill must stand on its own merits, not get passage based on how much of the citizens money they are willing to waste to get some piecs of crap legislation passed.

I know we could all name 1,000 points but these are the ones I would vote hell yes for.

Hey Spoke great point. When we have a few days instead of a few lines maybe I'll share with you how as a consultant to the state of fl., I reduced operating cost in one state government unit by centralizing the procurement function - the largest savings was due to the elimination of fraud I am sad to say.

Or maybe I can spend a weekend and share with you how during another project I implemented a shared services program between county, state, and federal agencies so each contributed those things which were most availalbe to them.

Think and maybe rather than some trite, pompus response which is virtually meaningless, maybe you can make a real contribution -

BTW, am I correct to assume you are a government employee?

1. check and balance our government, the judicial branch isn't doing their job. the president has too much for such a small campagin.

2. people like teachers hold too much power and need to be treated like real workers. they have to work to make money. parents need to be involved too.

3. they should start capping the price on housing, no one is purchasing houses right now.

4. we need a strong government that does whats best for the people, and not everything the people want. one that won't break the united states constitution. (ex. we aren't an empire, therefore we can't just barge into someone elses country and take over. we did that with the middle east, because we suspected that they had weapans of mass destruction. we didn't find any. then they took it as "america wants to take over and destroy the muslim religion". osama bin laden brain washed them into thinking that. and so we couldn't put a stop to this, they got rid of all televisions and modern communication technology.)

i like your ideas, these are some of mines too ;)

Agreed!

Hell Yes!

Aside: I would first and foremost be genuinely impressed if the politicians would read the Bills they are voting on! First word to last!

That's just the beginning!

Term limits are a good thing!

For congress Id be willing to just have a lottery, if your names pulled your the next senator, you serve one term then are gauranteed a return to your previous job. If you are found guilty of accepting money from anyone its 10 yrs in prison....and you are forbidden to accept a job with any company you dealt with while in office for 5 yrs.....couldnt be any worse

you have to figure out why the present system exists and functions and then design to meet the underlying needs -- not arbitrarily decree a bunch of "thou shalts and shalt nots".
