When I think of spiritual, I think of spirits. Not only Holy Spirit etc(God,Jesus, saints, evil spirits..all to do with religion)but also people's spirits...wherever they are. All spirits aren't inside religion..or maybe they are. OK..atheists have a spirit too..but outside religion.ALL these are "spiritual"beings.(any that no longer have a body..even animals) So ..ALL these are under the "spiritual "heading to me.Maybe spiritual is "inside"both paranormal & supernatural. But isn't paranormal also supernatural?( I'm making my head hurt!)lol

Anything supernatural exists -above- the laws of nature as we understand them. Properly used, it should relate to that which may affect this world but does not (normally)exist in this world. Some examples would be angels, demons, and ghosts.

Paranormal relates to objects and events that DO exist in this world, but are not explainable and/or verifiable through scientific methods. Some examples would be telekenesis, telepathy, and clairvoyance.

The gray area between that causes all the confusion is for two reasons; One, if a phenomena is 'above' the laws of nature, it must also be 'outside' the laws of nature, and therefore can be both; and Two, while the source of a phenomena may be supernatural, the manifestion of that phenomena is within this world, and so technically is paranormal. In short, a ghost is supernatural, but the haunting of a house is paranormal.

Lastly, spiritual is very general term to describe anything pertaining to a soul or spirit, with a mild connotation of being religious in nature.

Hope this helps. :-)

Paranormal is a term usually used to describe some sort of event or phenomenon. Such a phenomenon, were it real, would be beyond our current understanding of the laws of the universe.

Supernatural is similar in that it is a term used to describe things which exist outside of our natural (i.e. tangible, observable) understanding of the world. Personally, I usually reserve this word when describing things having to do with religion.

Spiritual is a term with many meanings, ranging from strictly religious to metaphysical to just a general term describing a psychological perception of the world.

I prefer to use the term spiritual in a non-supernatural way. I think you can be an atheist and a skeptic and still have a spiritual experience. For example, every time I get to see stars in a clear night sky that is free of light pollution I have a very spiritual experience.

paranormal is anything that falls outside the normal realm of reason. Supernatural is anything that is beyond natural explanation, and spiritual is anything having to do with a belief or religion.

Nothing is different between them because none of them can be explained but they are more or less the same(ghostly).
