I am working in a MNC co.,Now I got an offer from similar company and gave my resignation to my co of 1 month. But they refused to give my relieving letter. My new co., will not allow me to join without relieving letter.Almost 2 weeks left to join there and here I have taken around 4 days leave during the time of notice period.

First Q: Is there any legal regulation for the companies in respect to notice period and relieving letters.

Second Q: The leaves that I have taken will affect the notice period?

If you are in the USA, there is NO letter that is required. Period. It is a non-issue here in the USA. I suggest you speak to an attorney in your own country.

Relieving letter? I'm guessing you're not in the U.S.

Probably best if you consult a labor/employment attorney but myself I would think that if they are hindering you from gaining employment elsewhere by refusing to give what is rightfully yours than it is actionable.
