What do reckon? It's October, is it cold enough yet to justify wearing your big old favourite coat?

I have got my winter coat out of storage (storage being the coat peg in the hallway) and it's a beautiful red hooded coat with black trim. I feel like little red riding hood in it but it only does up at the top and I need to get it dry cleaned.

It's in the 70's for the evening. Tomorrow, rain all day and low is 49/high is 59 and then by Friday it will be back into the 80's with sunshine.

oh, by the way, I live in Texas.

What's a winter coat? =)

I live in Tennessee. It's been way too warm to wear a coat yet. Long sleeves in the lmorning, late afternoon or early evening, yes.
Our coat weather usually doesn't get here until November.

Lol it certainly is, i agree with the person from Scotland, i live in the West Midlands and my coat has stayed faithful to me all Autumn =).

If everyone thinks this thought, the "is-it-safe-to-wear-my-big-coat" thought, nobody will ever get their coats out and everyone will freeze in the winter lol...so get it out and sport it with some gloves and a scarf =), just to top it off...

take care x

No, indeed! It was 21 C (80F and hotter) today and quite windy. (I'm wearing shorts and a tank right now). Southern California is alight with massive brushfires that are being fanned by the winds. But Tuesday I am going to Washington D.C. for a holiday, and unfortunately, it's supposed to rain the whole time. :-(

NOPE, especially not this weekend. But you can get your jackets out, leather jackets are great "between-weather" coats. Layer as the weather at this time of year changes, and is windy and you need a wind-breaker of some sort. Leather jackets are perfect. But it's NOT parka weather yet.

My favorite purple sweater never goes into storage, but I did buy a new peacoat. That's all it ever gets cold enough to wear in Texas.

Except on some days, when I have to break out my heavier sweater.
