Sure, there was Armistice Day November 11th 1918 (now known as Veterans Day in the US, but Europe and Canada still celebrate Armistice Day).

November 10th 1775 the U.S. Marine Corps was born in a place called Tunn Tavern in Pennsylvania. The then Continental Congress had called for a Corps of Marines to serve aboard Continental Naval vessels.

The all to tragic JFK assasination in Dallas/Ft. Worth in 1963.
