The only way the government receives money is through confiscatory means. The government produces no goods or services so to pay for "free" healthcare, how many taxes will have to be increased?
I've seen an argument that government controlled healthcare would be similar to govt run schools, police, etc. Horrible argument but I'd take a student from a private school over public (government) anyday.
People really want the same inadequate peeps who work at the DMV making their healthcare decisions?

Nothing is free, especially not a limited resource. We will have to pay somewhere. Unless you already are make so little that you don't need to pay taxes, it that case it will be truly free, since middle class people will be paying more than their share to make up for you.

If the government spent less on wars, and interfering in the business of other countries, you could have the best health care in the world, and probably cut taxes.
