My husband swears when he gets angry in public.... I find this incredibly disrespectful--especially when children are present. Do you agree?
I've told him this bothers me, but he doesn't seem to care. He says that children hear worse in school.

He was raised in a different culture. German culture to be exact. I don't believe that's an excuse. What to do???

I am not trying to justify it. I just wanted to know what other people's opinions were. OKAY? Get over it!

tell him to swear in his language when no one knows what it means. and if he still feels like swearing, tell him when he swears, just don't open your mouth, he'll still be saying it but it just wont be that loud and it'll stay in his mouth.

HI,,, I agree with you ,,, I don't know what people thinks at times i don't think that that should be done in public ,,, because there is a lot of children all our the place that will hear this and think its OK ,,, its not nice to do this in public ,,
You need to really let him know how you feel because its hard when you are dealing with that kind of situation,,,,
I hope that everything works out well form you,,,
Good Luck

LMAO , he's german you say you dont believe that's an excuse yet you just tried to justify it ? yeah they're all like that I was married to 1 for 12 years.

But he is right children do hear worse in the school play ground and park's after school and at the beach on holidays and believe it or not children use those words more then adult's society has lower standards amongst the little one's now.

When he swears in public just ignore him and walk in a different direction .

Well, I agree it is wrong to curse around a bunch of children but it's hard to teach an old dog new tricks.
However, you should ask him if he would appreciate grown folks cursing up a storm in front of your children! See how much he likes that.

you are right and he is right because they do learn bad things in school and on t.v. but he should have more respect than that and not to be doing that around children or the elderly i would just talk to him and tell him it is very disrespectful to do that and he needs to control it some maybe record him when he does it and let him listen to it and let him hear how he sounds maybe that will change him good luck

I think your right, it is very disrespectful, and he needs to think about what it's teaching the kids. By his swearing, he's telling the kids that it's ok to swear.

In my home, my wife and I don't swear around the kids, and we tell them that language like that is totally inapropriate and will NOT be tollerated.

I think you need to tell your husband that his swearing will not be tollerated especially around the kids.

Probably nothing.Wait til a police officer hears it and arrests him for public disorderly conduct or the like. That would probably be the end of it

Who cares about swearing in public. The FCC is the most useless company ever and should be abolished. Who cares if kids know bad words. They'll learn em anyways.

i don't care where you are raised at...swearing around children and elderly people (and i still believe in around women, as well) should be avoided...
