Obviously someone you know was this type of woman. However, that is a judgmental and unjustified statement if I have ever heard one. Based on reading some of your other questions I see that you are a very judgmental and stereotypically influenced person, even in regards to your own race, which I find very sad.
That said, women become single moms for a variety of reasons. I am not one, but I know many. Let me ask you this, do you believe in abortion? Some women become single mothers because the person they are in a relationship with cannot take the pressure of a pregnancy, and leaves. What should the woman do in this case, abort the pregnancy? I would imagine you would say yes, since you think single moms are so horrible. A woman that I work with is a single mother of two. She was married to a man for years and had two children with him. A couple of years ago the man decided to have an affair and leave her. That must be her fault to, huh? Yeah, she really must be an idiot according to you sir!! What if the woman if a window? What if she is a single mom who lost her husband in this never ending war in Iraq? SHE should have known better!!! Is that what you think? My God have mercy on your soul sir, you need to open your eyes. I cannot believe someone would even post a question such as this, you truly horrify me with your ignorance.

You're really looking at this through a very narrow perspective and are not putting any responsibility on the shoulders of the man involved. He had the option to opt out of the situation, use protection, etc. just as she did. Further, there are many women who find themselves single mothers as a result of the death of a spouse/long term bf, as a result of divorce where the man decides that he has a new family and doesn't want to be bothered with his children from the previous marriage, etc. At the end of the day one thing cannot be denied, the mother is taking responsibility for her actions and doing the best that she can to raise the child that didn't have a choice in the situation. The man is not.
Single mothers may get some encouragement but single fathers get casseroles, awards, pats on the back for doing what they're supposed to do, and more women than they know what to do with.

So what you're saying is, "Because she was, once, a bad judge of character and thus has to work harder for 20 years than most people are able to, she shouldn't be praised"? Is that your point? Even if you somehow popped out of your momma's snatch with a fully-formed ability to be a perfect judge of character, it still gives you no right to denigrate other people who might have one time granted someone the benefit of the doubt. Ahhh, there's nothing more obnoxiously arrogant than a teenager who knows he knows it all.

Single moms are carrying the full load for something that she and some deadbeat are responsible for. I don't condone what got a lot of single mom's in that position, but think a heck of a lot more should be done to nail the deadbeats. I do admire the sheer guts and strength of maternal love that single moms project.

That's a gross overgeneralization. You can't point to two single moms who have the same story as to how they got there.
My sister just decided to get a divorce, and they have a 1 year old baby. They've only been married 2 years. He seemed to be a caring, good guy before they got married, but then he turned into a jerk. He doesn't have sex with her (I'm pretty convinced he's getting it somewhere else), and he doesn't ever hold his daughter or try to bond with her. I'm sorry, but I'd rather see my sister as a single mom trying to find a MAN to love her and her daughter the way they deserve, then to stay married to that cheating, ignorant piece of crap.

It takes two to tango. Most men just walk away after ejaculation, they have it easy . Those single moms that legitimately raise are child up are to be commended. However, their decisions of not using contraceptive should be judge equally negative as the men they were with.

i would have agreed if your last comment applied to ALL single moms. But some moms are single because their husbands died. Or some other reasons.

If they have never been married and have 4 children by different men you have to wonder why don't they take the pill or are they that stupid. If that seems disagreeable to them then what about not having sex with every man they see.

yes! let's blame single moms for everything wrong in the world!
but let's also keep in mind that if single moms abandoned their kids at the same rate that the fathers of those children did, we'd really be in trouble.
