Ok I am at a community college and I am doing Liberal Arts so I need 2 science classes (8 credits) to transfer after 2 years (AA degree) so on my sheet it says:

Science
Biology I and II (or higher) BIOL 161-162
Chemistry I and II (or higher) CHEM 181-182
Physics I and II (or higher) PHYS 171-172

I already took Chem I last year but dropped Chem 2 with a W because I was failing... I really don't wanna have to do Chem 2 over again just to graduate I'd rather just do Bio 1. My question is, would that be acceptable to graduate? Or, do I have to do 2 of the same class? (Chem 1 and 2) ?

Please help, I emailed my advisor but she never got back to me and it isn't clear on the sheet... I don't wanna be held back from graduating in exactly 2 years (its my goal) just because of this.

Thank you!

It looks to me that they want a 2-semester sequence. Taking Chem I and Bio I won't do it. You either need to do Chem II or pick a full sequence of Bio or Physics.

This probably relates directly to an articulation agreement with a 4-year program that requires that sequence.

The only way to know for sure is to get approval from your school. Even if your adviser says it's ok - get it in writing.

Thats a paradox. Liberal Arts tiers are merely accepted tiers that touch on slightly of each and every thing without considerable. I unquestionably have an arts degree and each week earlier i began my first 300 and sixty 5 days I observed a T-shirt asserting "friends do no longer permit friends take arts". How disconcerting.

I graduated last semester with a A.A. and A.S. in 3 years. I did A.A. first then wanted to go pre-med with an A.S. Anyhow, you MUST speak to your adviser and if they are incompetent then seek the Dean. They will get in trouble and you might be able to work out a deal. My friend did that with Anatomy & Physiology. He didn't like it and didn't want to take part II of it and usually they say that you have to take both for any credits to be given, but he had part II replaced with some other class.

Every college/university have different sets of rules.

If you will be doing liberal arts in the 4 year college, Biology might suffice. They just want 1 year of science.

It's ONLY for science majors that they want 1 year in each discipline.
