Assuming this is a one-way rental,
Avis, Hertz and Budget all rent one ways e.g. LAX to LaGuardia (airport to airport). Plug in your information ar www.cheaptickets.com or check out individual rental car websites. It will take about 6-7 days driving that distance.

I was curious and checked a rental company (Her....) and they had cars for LA to NY $750. Seems like a good deal. I was surprised.

advertise in a paper....sometimes people are moving coast to coast and don't want to ship their car but would rather have someone drive it, (it's cheaper than shipping)..they pay for gas and may even pay you to do the job..good luck.
