you found yahoo so what's the problem? go to the yahoo homepage and just use the files on the page to start you going towards sites you may be interested in. but if you know the site you want type it into the long bar at the very top of the page...AFTER you delete all the words and letters that are in the box already, because they represent the address of yahoo or whereever you are reading this from. Maybe your local community center has a weekend computer class for adults for little or no money and a teacher can answer all your questions. Get in touch with someone you work with or someone in your family or community group you may belong to and see if they can help you further.
Most regular websites will end in .com (dot com) and
most real information sites such as for healthcare, insurance or charity groups will end in .org ( dot org) or government sites at .gov(dot gov)

You're on the internet right now.
If you really need help, there should be an icon for an internet provider (msn, aol, internet explorer, etc.) on your desktop. Double click that. Whatever your homepage is will show up next. At the top of the page, there should be a bar where you can type. This is called the address bar. Type whatever website you want to go on in that address bar, then press ENTER. That's it!

You are on the internet now, when you asked this question. Or when you read the answers...same thing, your on the net.
If you are after something inparticular you could use the search bar. Or go to http://www.google.com and type in something of interest...like type in 'online games' or something and you will find heaps of things to do on the internet.
Good Luck =)
