12x - 12 - 8x = - 4
4x = 8
x = 2 , y = 3

equation 1: y=3x-3
equation 2: y=(-4+8x)/4 so y=-1+2x
therefore 3x-3=-1+2x
3x-2x=-1+3
x=2
substitute back into either:
y=3(2)-3
y=3

check 4(3)-8(2)=-4
correct...........
