I prefered The Crystal Maze (Richard O Brian years 1990- 1994)
because it was a gameshow with a differecne since it required people to do everything that most shows don't such as it requires the use of the brain in logic puzzles as opposed to general knowledge as well as using skill in games which can be downright infuriating.

Or for purely cranial games
Carol Vorderman's Big Brain Game
Similar principals to Crystal Maze only it focuses on different parts of the brain and what it specialises on and tests it.

But for General Knowledge games:
The four i think that count would be:
- Who Wants To Be A Millionaire - 12* question = £1 million
*New rule for 2007
- The People Versus... - 5 rounds of questions (15 correct questions required to win £3,000) it was created alongside WWTBAM by the same people but it too had "lifelines" called "Flips" which allowed you to change a question to one of your specialist knowledge topic.
- Cash Cab - Shows that random people can at times be so stupid although I would hate to be the sod who happened to be wanting to travel 15 miles with only 3 lives.
- Winning Lines - The only gameshow where correct answers are only half the solution, finding the allocated number on a giant "wonderwall" is daunting with dramatic music playing in the background and a 3 minute clock ticking between your legs!

the generation game

coz the contestants in it were so genuine/real and down to earth, the host bruce forsyth was so witty and funny and the female co presenter was very attractive

and therefore all the great ingredients for a game show

that's one I like but I wish there were a real show like The Running Man by Stephen King or The Long Walk.THAT would be reality worth watching especially if we get prisoners as contestants!:-)
