I'm in the middle of depression and I have to go to work (which is the source of my major stress) and I feel on the verge of having a major breakdown (even now). How do you handle being in the mist of a stressful environment and making decision during that time. I'm a first year nurse.

Deep slow breathing and lots of little prayers and a strong support system. Find a friend you can trust and talk to. Being a nurse is hard but a very rewarding job. I am very proud of you. Keep it up we need more good people like you. Hang in there it will get easier. Talk to a doctor about the depression though that is not a good thing. I will pray for you. We need good nurses! Good job on getting there!!!!

I feel your pain but don't lose hope:)

I talk to friends and family, exercise and keep myself occupied with tasks (shopping, cooking, cleaning, reading etc.). Sunlight is extremely helpful so be sure to get out. You can always seek help from a social worker, psychologist or psychiatrist.
