all i see is a black screen & the mouse.
but then it says, to install the internet connection or whatever. but idk how?

Box it up as quickly as you can and return it to the store. I would ask for a refund and go somewhere else to buy a replacement.

Okay, there a cancel button or anything?
if not, then find part that says keep my isp, and click ok. thus wifi for the win.

If you don't have the restore CDs then take it back and get it fixed.
