Our troops won Vietnam. Our troops are way kicking a ss in Iraq. In six years the terrorists have managed to kill 3700 Americans. To put that in perspective in the 30 day Battle of the Bulge we lost 20,000 Americans.
So if our politicians have no b alls and our public are defeatist like you then sadly we can yet again snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

Sometimes the message is more powerful than the bombs - in Viet Nam, we demonstrated clearly to the world that we would no longer tolerate the spread of communism. I strongly suspect that any other communist country at the time with aspirations to invade another nation thought long and hard about our willingness to put our troops on the ground to prove our commitment.
In Iraq, we are demonstrating to the world that we will no longer tolerate the indiscriminate slaughter of thousands of innocent people by a fanatical ideology of hatred and domination.
I am proud of our commitment to confront this inhumanity.

Yes, the businessmen who own our politicians have already won big time. Now they are just milking it. Same with vietnam: The people in charge in Russia and U.S. did well off that war too.

It's always possible they are the same people.

Every heard of a chicken fight. Like puppets on a string.

According to the leftist who lied to congress about the VietNam war.
Different now, I would never allow anyone to spit on the troops, I would just enjoy being in jail knowing I pulled their tongue out.

We didn't win in Vietnam. Congress lost it for us. That will happen again if we don't win.
