When I was a child I attended a poster making course that had a machine that you could take any picture and put it in and it would project the image on the wall and you would take the poster paper and tape it up then trace the image on it. I have tried different ways of saying this in search, but with no luck. I did find a small one that they sell at craft stores but it is not the same. This was much bigger than that.

I think it is called an opaque projector, check on blickart website they have them there.

It is called an "opaque projector."

They come in different sizes. I used one in high school that was the size of a small desk. I could insert a sketch as large as 16 by 20 inches.

I have a smaller one, in my studio, that can accept a 4 by 6 inch image. I bought it at an art supply store, about 15 years ago.
