we have to right an essay for a-level history.
our teacher wants us to include our opinion in the first paragraph, my opinion is that it was not a success, but i know the points better why it could be considered a success (helped second world war/ he did fulfill his aims) and we had to do a debate at school, i ended up on the it was successful team, and we won. so yeah, should i say my true opinion, and if so, facts and figures about the massive human sufferings? its alot easier to find figures about it being a political success

just a note, i dont believe it was successfull, i think it was terrible.

To do research on the fly I use wikipedia.com. They probably have something on Soviet Union, collectivization and the 1930s. The shortages, the unreliable industrial base and the mass starvations of the 1930s probably support the abject economic and human failure that is communism. Conditions changed during World War II, and returned to grim shortages and repression after the war.

I would suggest going to the library and looking up books on this.

Go look up historian Richard Overy because he writes a lot on Soviet history.

Plus, it's "write an essay" not "right an essay."
