Lexmark printers sort of suck. It is probably the black printer cartridge. It is all clogged up. Try the Nozzle Clean feature in the Printer Properties section under MAINTENANCE. You just might have to get a new cartridge.
But next time, you might consider a Canon Inkjet printer. They are a bit more reliable. Better paper handling, cheaper ink. In fact, each color is in a separate cartridge, so when you run out of YELLOW, you don't throw away good ink.
But for real printing speed, lower cost, reliability, I really recommend that you get a Laser printer. This is your best bet if you print 100 sheets per week in a busy home office. Check out this Brother Laser printer at NewEgg.com
Brother HL series HL-5250DN 28 ppm Laser Workgroup Monochrome Printer Network, parallel port, USB port - $239.00
Shockingly better than anything that HP makes, so I switched.

I don't have an answer but a question and not sure where to ask it: I am so frustrated . I have a Lexmark pro200-500 series that is wireless. I had it at another home a couple of yrs ago when I was using a belkin router. I have moved and have arris-3DD2. I called Lexmark. the wifi was a solid green now a blinking red as they would not help me after they found out the test page was printing but would for over $100. They said they would email instructions. Did not receive so I tried reinstalling and now it is blinking red (the wifi printing icon). I phoned buckeye cable and they said they can see where I have the Lexmark and my wifi for computer is on but on the printer it still shows the damn belkin. Buckeye said It may be stuck and may have to change settings. Not sure how to do that. My print test page network info reads Wireless Radio: Enabled Status: Not connected (but cable said it was) The SSID is still Belkin but I have Arris-3dd2 Trouble Cod: Cant find APSignal Quality Unacceptable. Can someone help????Lexmark said something about reconfiguring but no email about that and cablevision said I am connected as I said but may need to change setting and don't know how. Wish I had remote assist

the printer is disconnected
clean print nozzles
something is not plugged in all way
the printer software got deleted
it needs to be reset usually holding down 2 buttons at one time and letting up.
the computer cant find the printer which means u might want to just install the drivers again.
the printer is not recognized on the network
one of the networks are turned off
your outlet went out try another one
u might have got a virus and it corrupted your printer drivers
thats about all the troubleshooting i can give you for now if its not one of those then just go buy another one.

click the start button and then click on printers and faxes...
see if it shows that it has a page stored. It should show if there's a page in there and the time it was sent to the printer. If you can't figure it out, then turn off the computer and printer by re-booting...

Does it print graphics, but not text? Does it not print ANY text, or only misses some. What is the source document? Word or a webpage?
