Linus Pauling received the Nobel prize for Chemistry in 1954, and the Nobel Prize for Peace in 1962 for his campaign against above-ground nuclear testing. He is the only person to win two Nobel prizes that were not shared with another recipient. The other people who have received two Nobel prizes are Marie Curie (physics and chemistry), John Bardeen (both in physics) and Frederick Sanger (both in chemistry).

Yes.

Four people have each been awarded two Nobel Prizes. Two of the four received their laurels in different categories.

Marie Curie : Physics 1903 (discovery of radioactivity), Chemistry 1908 (isolation of pure radium)
Linus Pauling : Chemistry 1954 (hybridized orbital theory), Peace 1962 (nuclear test-ban treaty activism)
John Bardeen has won twice for Physics, and Frederick Sanger has won twice for Chemistry.

That is very stupid, but acceptable to think that if one was ignorant enough to think everything is relative in this world. The big problem with that is that we live in a World of Absolutes. Teddy Roosevelt was a socialist. Not a conservative. Conservatives believe in the value of the absolute. They believe in personal responsibility. Believe in working for what you have and not being ridiculous while going into debt that your great grandd children will be paying off. No where in the world has socialism worked. It has made people slaves of the Governments.
