If you say yes, knowing the history... and the current state of government run medical service, why would you say yes ? Nothing compares to America`s healthcare. You don`t want to drag America`s healthcare down into a system that is failing the rest of the world...do you ??? What do you think ?

nothing compares to america's healthcare?

funny how the stats say something different.
equally funny how you rarely hear people that have socialized health care complaining.

you should travel a bit. get out of the American bubble and see that socialized isn't always a negative thing.

EDIT: I'm a 'typical leftist fool' just because I do not agree with your close-minded views? How american of you, to immediately brand people with labels. No wonder your government's in shambles.
Enjoy your hospital stay/bill when you get sick.
Toodles.

Yes, I think it is the only way of getting out from this chaos, (43 million people doesn’t have health care) what kind of country are we living? The socialized health care is cheaper and accessible to everyone. As I grew up in a country that had a socialized health care, I never seen any lines for seeing a doctor, in fact the hospitals where almost empty. I remember in the high school or at work they even forced us to go and get vaccinated. Now that I think, the reason that I didn’t see many patients in the hospitals is because everyone had access to the health care and they prevented the disease from the start. Thus, the chance to get sick from other person is limited.

This doesn’t mean that we need to have exactly the same way as the other countries. It can be some kind of mixture that can keep the competition between the doctors and drug companies.

Anyone that says ‘health care to everyone’ is not going to work is simply under the fear syndrome (thus he/she is already sick). I am not surprised that there are still some people that are confused; the corporate propaganda works well.

Socialized medicine doesn't work. Any time the government runs something it costs twice as much and is half as effective. Just take a look at any country that has socialized medicine. Do you want to be diagnosed with cancer or some other life threatening disease and be put on a waiting list to seek treatment? I don't! And any politician that says they can do this without raising taxes is lying plain and simple. They won't be getting the money from the tooth fairy but the tax payers that pay for it.

No, absolutely not! We have better doctors, hospitals, research, equipment, etc. Just ask all the Canadians who come over here to get their health care. I am a registered Nurse who has taken care of many Canadians, as living in Michigan with very close proximity to Canada. The bigger part of our nursing staff also comes from Canada. I know the horror stories. it's like being lined up in the DMV.
Quality of care would fall. The competitive nature of medicine is what really works in all areas.
I say leave the government out of your health. They've already made a mess of the amount of control they have in the health care system as it is.
We already care for the poor, elderly and disabled, and many more with and without compensation. I think there should be reforms in health care, not socialized medicine.

Have you seen the conditions of "government housing?" Trouble with socialized anything is it's alot like living in an apartment. You pay your rent and they take care of most everything. Every year the rent goes up. You forget or never learn how to fix things for yourself and eventually are forced to move. You have nothing to show for the money spent. You buy a house and suddenly realize just how much you DON'T know about taking care of things yourself. You either learn or pay through the nose for someone else to come in and do it for you.
SchrillaryCare? She screwed things up miserably the last time. What makes anyone think she'll do a better job this time?

Excuse me! There is already socialized medicine in the USA and it works very well, thank you very much! Both medicare/medicaid and the Veterans Administration are socialized medicine pure and simple. I have been taken care of by the VA most all my adult life and am very satisfied. They saved my life in two separate surgery's.

I have a niece who was recently mangled in a car accident , was in a coma, in intensive care for 3 months, is now in rehab and will be for a year or more and her medical bills are already over $2million and rising. The 17 year old girl who hit her broadside in California was uninsured. My niece will probably never be able to pay off the debt that remains after her insurance ran out. She has liabilities that will be more than she ever expected to earn in a lifetime.

Lets hear it for socialized medicine! Hip Hip Hooray, Hip Hip Hooray, Hip Hip Hooray!

Good luck with your insurance, good health, peace and love!

I've already got socialized medicine, it's called Medicare. In case you didn't know, this is a government run medical service and it works well as long as politicians leave their hands off it. This is a necessary program for all Americans over 65 years of age and you all need to know that the republicans are hell bent on trashing it. They've succeeded in reducing funding while they were in charge of congress and our current president will veto any attempts to improve services. Would any average American over the age of 65 want to see republicans in charge of our Medicare again? That would be a death wish.

I am fully aware of the absolute inability of the federal government to run ANY social program or agency. After all, I am a 20 year navy retiree and have seen first hand the "red tape" the feds are so good at producing.

I do feel that there should be a way for the children of poor families to access health care! That is just plain humanitarian.

As for "Hillary care", that is just inflamatory rhetoric spouted by the idiots like Limgaugh, Hannity and company. I take it for what it is worth.

Healthcare in the US is so expensive many people are going to Costa Rica and Mexico. Here in the US we pay twice as much for half as much. As my physician host mother in Costa rica said, "You can have the same surgeries in Costa Rica and pay to stay in luxury for a fraction of the cost of in the US."

The US is one of the only rich country that doesn't value life. Even many third world countries have socialized medicine. People in costa rica buy health insurance for optional high tech surgeries.

We should take a look at each of the best socialize programs. There are so many countries to compare with - Afghanistan*, Argentina, Austria, Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Chile, China, Cuba, Costa Rica, Cyprus, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Iraq*, Iceland, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Oman, Portugal, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Spain, Sweden, South Korea, Sri Lanka, Ukraine and the United Kingdom.

Because SOME healthcare is better than NO HEALTHCARE...for the 43 million americans without health-care coverage and MILLIONS MORE whose health care coverage is more about corporate profit that health care, socialized medicine would be a God-send.

You are right NOTHING compares to America's profit driven health-care system, that is why people die in waiting rooms, and with relatively minor (yet urgent) medical conditions....because we have allowed corporate greed to take control of medical care.
