They fill time with something a little more stimulating than the Telly. It is an interaction with other people, but you never have to worry about what the people on the other end think of you or who you are, because you will never really meet them. You can say thing and express opinions you might feel timid about in real life.

They ask me how I'm doing! Friendships in my 'real world' are very social and require a lot of etiquette. And, in my circle of friends, it's pretty impolite to talk about our feelings. It's different online. These people don't know me, and so it's not as if their opinion of me can go down if I confess an emotional weakness. And I like to think it's a two-way street.
I feel more comfortable with these strangers than I do with my friends. How bizarre is that?

No matter what time of the day or night, there's always someone here for a laugh, or a shoulder to cry on, someone to tell a story to, or someone to tell me one. Just great friends, and it's so awesome when those great friends spill over into real life too, like a few of mine from here have.

I had to think about this one.I like almost everyone on here. My contacts are so cool with their jokes and advice. I have friends out here, but they can be b itchy and hard to manage
sometimes. And where else can you get 30 or 40 answers to a question? All those perspectives can really help.

They make me laugh when I need to laugh, they laugh at my jokes no matter how stupid they are, if someone says something rotton to me it doesn't matter what time of day it is, someone is there to back me up...and most of all I NEVER have to add the disclaimer: "Just Kidding" ---they know. Oh, and the sexx. Can't forget the sexx...
