My ouija board never workd =( I have the new glow in the dark one. But once, when I was using it, my ipod all of a sudden turned on with the volume so high, but for some reason, my ipod kept doing that after that experience. Once my ipod turned on in the middle of my midterm. Another was when 3 of my friends and I used it, but it just moved slightly.

Parker Brothers did not invent the Ouija Board. It had already been around for awhile when it was bought by Parker Brothers in 1966 and turned into a commercial success as a board game. Its beginnings lie in the distant past when an earlier version (a tripod device) was used in the ancient ways of Babylon and Greece to contact departed spirits. The tripod became the pointer now used with the Board, which is printed with the alphabet, the numbers 1-9, a 0 (zero), and the words 'Goodbye', 'Yes', and 'No'. There are other boards like this with different names, but with the same history and purpose. The modern version of this game was developed by a man named Planchette, a spiritualist (someone who contacts the dead as part of their religion). The Board was further transformed around the turn of the century under the direction and ownership of two men, Elijah J. Bond and William Fuld. Fuld’s name can be seen on the Ouija Board today. The name Ouija is a combination of the French and German words for 'yes': Oui and Ja. According to Bond and Fuld, the Board suggested its own name. The primary purpose of the board is and always has been to contact disembodied spirits. Contacting the dead is called necromancy, and contacting spirits is spiritism, both strongly condemned by God (Deut. 18:9-12; Lev. 19:31, 20:6; I Sam 28, II Kings 21:6; Is. 8:19, 19:3-4). The Board’s translated name, 'yes, yes', is an ingenious and subtle way to invite spirit contact. Dead people cannot hang around after death; you cannot communicate with a dead person. The practices and techniques of contacting the dead and contacting spirits are used widely in the occult. Although the pointer is often moved intentionally or subconsciously by the players, you are putting yourself in a vulnerable position when using the Board. By 'playing' this 'game', you are showing an interest in spirit contact. If contact is made, it is demons (evil spirits, fallen angels), not the dead, who are responding. If Satan can disguise himself as "an angel of light" (2 Cor. 11:14), then it is not improbable that fallen angels can disguise themselves as the dead. The Ouija Board is not harmless just because it is marketed as a game. Satan, the master of deception and seduction, is good at twisting the truth into lies (Gen. 3:1-6; Jn. 8:44). Satan likes disguises and his lies are often disguised as games. The next time you are tempted to play the Ouija Board as a game, look beyond its disguise and see it for what it really is. Think about this: Just what or who are you trying to contact? God tells us to seek Him instead of the dead (Is. 8:19), and Christ "lives forever to plead with God" on behalf of those who believe Him (Heb. 7:25b). Who wants the Ouija Board when you can know the One Who has "complete authority in heaven and on earth!" (Matt.28:18). If you are wondering about Christ, think on His words in John 5:23b-24, "He who does not honor the Son does not honor the Father , who sent him. I tell you the truth, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be condemned; he has crossed over from death to life."

I had a scary experience with one. I was with a group of friends and we had a medium over. Two of my friends and a couple others were trying it and discussing the outcome, how it felt and what not.

I was uncomfortable with trying it at first, but finally got the courage and one of my friends and I did it together. Well, the planchette [sp?] was pretty strong [my friend had claimed that the other times it felt lighter] and then, the medium got scared and started crying and saying she could see something standing behind us, but wouldn't tell us what, so we quit.

She never would tell us what made her scared.

I won't use one again.

Many years ago, with my mother-in-law, I used to work one. It was awesome the things that came up. I suggest you get one, but don't be too surprised if you do find someone that it works with, what you find there.

it is pretty amazing. at first it doesnt work but you need to keep circling the plancette to warm up the board once you do this you begin to get slow faint answers some are nonsense at first but then they become very clear and after a few uses you get correct answers almost as soon as you touch the plancette. no spirits can harm you unless you invite them into your world you can do this by accident if you ask it to prove its presance, never do this i just direct my energy down so i know it isnt me moving the plancette. i havent had any bad expiriences but my first time when it began to move i was shaking, i knew the safe ways to use the board so i didnt invite anything in i just asked questions mainly about if the prson i was talking to knew so and so, its is very interesting you should definatly get one actualy you cna make one and it works just the same!

--homemade ouija--
get a nice firm surface card preferably and decorate it with paper of any color or you can leave it plain once you are finished decorating. write yes, no, hello, and goodbye in the four corners in the middle write the alphabet from A-Z below that leave a place for the plancette qa shot glass works best. below that put the number from zero to nine and your ready to play!

--how to--
# Timing. Most practitioners suggest using the board at night when, they say, less interference is in the atmosphere.
# Create some atmosphere. The Ouija is more fun if you darken the room and light some candles. Turn off the TV and any music to minimize distractions.
# Have a seat. The two users should sit facing each other, with knees touching if possible, with the board on their laps. Don't use a table.
5. Decide on a questioner or medium. Even though both people can ask questions -- or anyone else in the room can -- only one of the users should be the medium (the one to formally ask questions of the board).
6. Place your fingers on the planchette. You and your partner should place the fingers of both hands very lightly on the planchette, or pointer.
7. Move it. Purposely move the planchette around in a circle on the board for a moment or two to get it 'warmed up.'
8. Attitude. Don't let the board control the session. The medium should begin by announcing that the session will only allow an experience that is positive or toward a higher good and that negative energies are not welcome.
9. Begin simply. Start with a simple question, one that requires a yes or no answer.
10. Be patient. You might not begin to get answers right away. Give the board a chance to 'warm up.'
11. Be polite. When the board starts working, thank the board or entities for showing up and communicating with you.
12. Don't ask stupid questions. Avoid questions such as, 'When am I going to die?' If the board answers, 'in 6 months,' you might just worry about it needlessly.
13. Don't ask for physical signs. Many experienced users warn against asking for physical signs that the 'spirit' is real or present.
14. Don't believe everything the board tells you. Just as with any other source of information, don't accept whatever the board says to be the truth or accurate.
15. Close the board. This is an important step. When you're done with your session, slide the planchette to 'GOODBYE' and remove your hands.

--tips--
1. Have someone write down the answers. Sometimes the letters spell out very quickly and it's difficult to keep track of what's being said. A third person with paper and pen can write down the message as it comes.
2. Play sober. You'll get better results if you haven't been drinking or smoking.
3. Maintain control. If the board starts giving rude, vulgar, obscene or otherwise disagreeable responses, break off the session immediately by closing the board.

--------------------------------------...
It is often helpful to write down the questions you wish to ask before you begin. Prepare paper and pencil or a tape recorder to record messages. You can use a camcorder if one is available. Using an infrared camcorder in a dimly lit room is a great way to see the energies of spirit.

Some people ouija best alone - others like to ouija with another person.

Make your surroundings are comfortable and seemingly free of negative energies. Some people like to say a prayer over the board - or do some other ritual. In this case envision a protective white light of energy surround yourself, the board, those you are working with, and even the room. Ask your spirit guide - we all have guides - to protect you and bring your spirits to channel who are on higher frequency.

1)Be sure your board is clean and free of dust. Wipe gently with a clean soft cloth before you begin.
2)You do not have to use 'spooky lighting' or candles.
3)It is best not to play music as you will also be focusing on your thoughts as you channel.
4)As spirits love flowers - you might want to place some in a vase of water near the area in which you are using.
5)Spirits also love water - as they are part of the collective unconscious which is the flow of water.
6)Decide if you want to place the board on a table, upon the knees of two persons, or where it is most comfortable for those who will use it.
7)You can Ouija alone or with another person. If you Ouija with others be sure they are not negative in their thinking.
8)Determine who wants to use the board - and who wants to just observe.
9)Decide which person will ask the first question - and if there is to be an order to follow for asking questions.
10)If everyone wants a turn at the board - it is best to go clockwise around the board with each person taking their turn.
11)The time for each turn will vary with the spirit you answering.
12)People may be contacted by more than one spirit. Sometimes the spirits argue over who is to come through at a given time. Ask for one spirit at a time and always get a name before you begin.
13)Though spiritual energy enters through the left side of your body - most people will use their dominate hand to work the board - which in most cases is the right hand.
14)If you have telekinetic abilities and feel you can move the indicator with your mind, then it is best not to use the board as you are guiding the answers.
15)You may also discover - as you work with the board - that you can subconsciously control the movement of the indicator - the same as using a pendulum. If you are not sure - close your eyes and allow the indicator to move alone.
16)Some spirits move across the board quickly - while others go very slow. An excited spirit will move the planchette faster.
17)One of the first questions you might want to ask when you begin to work with your ouija board is the names of your spirit guides. They are the ones who are here to protect and guide you. Everyone has at least one spirit guide.
18)You can start by asking for a message from spirit - or by asking spirit simple Yes or No questions to which you know the answer.
19)You should know the name of the spirit you are talking to. It should be your Spirit Guide. Another entity should come in when you get more comfortable with the Ouija board.
20)Always start with general questions. Save the personal questions for later when you are comfortable with the board.

21)Stick to subjects with positive energy when you begin to channel through Ouija.

Don't ask personal questions until you are comfortable with the spirit you are talking to.
Once an answer is given you can ask for more information or clarification of the answer. But - - You can only ask a question ONCE! Do not continue to ask the question over and over to seek the answer you want. Ask the question once and accept the answers given.
22)Ask simple questions that can be verified in the next few days.

23)Questions can be about you personally - or universal or about any topic you think the spirit would like to converse about.
24)You may get thought forms and mental images as you talk to the spirit.

a)Can things manifest in the room? Yes!

b)Can things move in the room? Yes

c)This all depends on the spirit.

*If you are a teenager - it may just be the telekinetic abilities of someone in the room.

You can ask the spirit to stop and not to do spooky things.

When a new entity comes through - always get its name - who they came to talk to - and what they want to discuss.

A word may come through with all of the letters but in the wrong order. That is why it is best to have someone not using the board - writing the letters as they come through. A name may come through as ICMAHEL - meaning MICHAEL. Remember that not all spirits speak in your language. Some spirits have trouble spelling words or creating sentences.

You might get a 'trapped spirit' that seeks help going 'to the light. If this a matter of you releasing this spirit because you have an emotional link to it - you must 'set the spirit free' and forgive whatever it wish you to forgive it from the time you knew it in the third dimension. Many spirits are trapped here and will 'guide' you to a Ouija board to tell you to release them. To do this - calm the spirit down - call you spirit guide - and ask them to guide the spirit to the next level of their experience. If they want you to help them with something so they can cross over - tell them that you are not skilled enough to do this - then send it away. If it will not leave - stop the board for that day and wait a few days to try again.

If spirits ask you to do weird things - again stop using the board. Anything negative being written on the board means you must put the board away for that session whether you want to or not. The entity should leave by your next session.

Do not ask spirits to bring you things you want but would not otherwise have. All spirit have their boundaries. You must find out the limitations of the spirit you are talking to.

REMEMBER THESE

a)Never ask spirits to do harm to others.
b)Never use the board to control others - or have power over them.
c)Do not let others use your board when you are not using it.
d)Keep the board in a special place.
e)Do not get addicted to the board.
f)Using a Ouija board is not a channeling 'medium' for everyone. Some people get it immediately - while others never get the hang of it. This seems to have no bearing on whether one is psychic or not. Many psychics can't work a Ouija Board.
With experience you can learn to channel your deceased loved ones and entities from other realms.
g)Some days the board may work for you. Others days you may get no response.
h)Be patient - and always feel comfortable with the spirit - or do not Ouija anymore.
keep in mind ouija does work if you are alone and is not dangerous if you follow the precautions!

good luck
