I will be living in Northern Brazil in about 8 months and I was wanting to open a small business there. What is something as an American I could provide that would not normally be there to the people?

Fairly Priced Electronics.

I used to work at a hotel, and the brazlians would come and buy TV's, and everything electronic because it is extremly expensive down there.

McDonald´s. This is just a joke, but if they know that the chief is American, they will buy a lot. If you have the money, open it near some famous beach, and put a drive-in. It will make a lot of success, especially in the northeast. I don´t know if you are offended by my answer. I´m not making an American´s caricature, just telling the truth.

I would advise a Lan House.

We are technology rats and vacation is almost there. People would easily spend 8 hours in front of the computer, playing something that just don't work well on their old and lame computers xD
