I have a 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The power door locks are slowly starting to die. It started with my rear locks only working once in awhile and now the driver side only locks manually. I'm looking for any suggestions before I take it to a mechanic. I'm in a new town and don't know any reputable mechanics yet. Thanks!

Make sure you have a good ground connection between the engine and the chassis. The locks pull a lot of current, so if that ground is bad they won't work too well. The best way to tell if it's a voltage problem is to lock and unlock the doors while you're driving at night and see if it makes the headlights dim or flicker.

Replace the master switch at the driver's door. Also clean all connection, use sandpaper, works wonders
