the question is impossible to answer unless you are told some additional information. I suspect you were told that the points (x,y) all lie on a straight line. (In math problems, it's important to pay attention to the words as well as the numbers :)

Well, the first two entries in the table tell you that (0,1) and
(2, 5) are two points on the line. From that information you can find the equation of the line. Once you do that, filling in the table is easy using the equation you found.

Assume a linear equation: y = mx + b
When x = 0, y = 1
1 = m * 0 + b
b = 1

when x = 2, y = 5
so:
5 = m*2 + 1
m = 4/2 = 2

***** therefore y = 2x + 1

check: -5 = 2(-3) + 1 (true)
check: 2 = 2(1/2) + 1 (true)

for x = -1
y = -2 + 1 = -1
etc.

slope-intercept form is

y = mx + b {m = slope, b = y-intercept}

From any two points you can determine the slope

Given the points (2, 5) and (0, 1) you determine the slope = (5 - 1)/(2 - 0) = 2 and the (0, 1) gives you the y-intercept

y = 2x + 1 is the equation of this line

Just plug in any table value and determine the corresponding x or y value
