I loved the original London Cast recording of Les Miz, but the revival cast aside from Javert's actor, Norm Lewis, was terrible in my opinion.
I haven't seen Wicked since 2003-2004, but it was definitely one of the best I saw on Broadway.

There's no answer to this. To narrow it down at all would require you to reveal something of your tastes.
You want musical? Comedy? Musical comedy? One of the top stars? Something new, or a classic? For children, or something for mature audiences? Is it a matter of what you can see for a given price? Does seating matter?
There's no single answer. If there was, there wouldn't be so many shows running at any given time.
