(This will probably be taken down in accusation of me being some kind of racist..but..)

It seems that being black is in nowadays and being white is just dopey and nerdy. Most of the top hit singles are random rap songs (Youuuuuu! Soulja Boyy!) that become popular for awhile.. And it just seems to have take prevalence in recent times. (Wasn't like this in the 90's (awesome period of time) - or at any other point in history).. What is up with our societies embrace for black music and things? (I'm not saying this is necessarily a bad/negative thing on our culture, i mean, i wouldn't want to be accused of being a racist..)

No one has to accuse you of being racist. Your words speak for themselves.
I'm bi-racial and I don't see "black culture taking over."
I believe it's just more evident now than ever before that black people have a very unique open culture, one that was almost hidden up until twenty years ago. A little over twenty years ago the main video channels wouldn't allow any black videos. Duran-Duran's Hungry Like a Wolf was pulled off MTV because a black woman was being chased by a white man.
As far as black culture taking over? What are you talking about? Is everyone suddenly forced to wear their hair kinky, or eat soul food? Is every channel on cable nothing but black people singing, reporting news, the weather, pushing real estate, selling on the shopping networks? Are there nothing but black people on every bill board and commercial poster you see? Heck no! Learn what "culture" is before making such nonsensical statements.
Stop da hating. Get some love infused in your heart. You'll live longer.

I have a problem with the term "Black Culture". I don't think that Rap music without a good message is culture.

I think that the label black culture, should be given to the writers, activist, people that help their community, people that are well educated and really represent what the Black community is about.

Black culture is more than rimes put together and performed with a beat and it is more than men being disrespectful towards women and women that only care about their looks.

So in my opinion, I think it is "in" because it requires no thinking, it requires no commitment to a community.

The real values of every single human being, no matter what their religion or ther race is, should be Family first and education. Trends and "cool" clothes come and go.

I wouldn't necessarily think of being 'black' as being 'in' style. I agree, the 90's were a great time period - but remember how popular Tupac and Biggie were? The music and style have and always will be popular in some cases, it just takes time for people to open thier eyes to a new culture.

Yeah, it's so different from when jazz was king. [/sarcasm] Tastes are fickle. To seriously oversimplify the history of popular American music: Broadway gave way to jazz, swing, and blues which gave way to a period where Sinatra, Elvis, Motown, et al. coexisted. Then there came British Invasion and hippie rock. After that, black R&B and white hard rock/metal-rock. The 90s saw everything from hip hop to punk and grunge to country. Wait another decade and see what big names are remembered before deciding the only place it's at in the US today is black rap.

I don't think black culture is taking over. I think the being dumb culture is taking over. It' seems as though being stupid is the "cool" thing. And the first thing that comes to most peoples mind about being dumb or illiterate is black people. And I say this as a black person so don't accuse me of being racist. When black music was about positive things and promoting knowledge...other cultures did not take notice. No one cared. No that it's full of bull crap and negativity, it's highly promoted and we as black people are the face of it. Being smart and promoting something positive is looked at as boring and nerdy. All I have to say is please stop the madness!

Basically, the change of taste and the upcoming generation has taken into liking this new type of music. As to my taste, im Hispanic and 16 years old, I do not like rap as much as other people do. Mainly because of the blunt content it has and the absurd, obscene, and at times stupid things it contains. I guess my generation has deteriorate from the previous generation, the previous generation was all about greatness... now its just comformity. Remember, just keep with whatever rocks your boat. Otherwise, try to experiment with other type of things. Lastly, ITS NOT TAKING OVER lol ;). Its just more commonly seen. Ill tell you who is taking over, the latinos ;), next time you go to a home depot, it may be my uncle you see looking for a job ;).

in line with danger we would desire to continually no longer blame the Black persons for being so surprising, we would desire to continually compliment them for it. very almost all the music genres we hear to have African-American origins. Blues, ragtime, jazz, rock, rap, RnB, hip hop, reggae, dubstep, catch, funk, disco, and so on. Arthela Franklin, Michael Jackson, Tupac, Nas, Wu tang, Fugees, miles davis, and so on and so on and so on. actually, they dominate music. activities, thats a good larger comedian tale. working, basketball, baseball, soccer, and so on. All run via the black populous for the main area, even the suitable and richest golfing participant is black. And yet, they make up approximately 12% of the populous. and by way of slavery, by way of segregation, and till ultimately on the present time they're discriminated against, yet they nevertheless conquer all that and upward thrust to the actual. Its extremely dazzling. Black custom isn't dominant by using media, or propaganda, or the liberals, its standard because of the fact human beings appreciate it. Black human beings have rhythm, they understand a thank you to gown, they understand a thank you to talk (surprisingly to women folk persons), and so on. White human beings, in a feeling, could learn a great purchase from black human beings. fairly, we discriminate, choose, and so on.

The main reason is that the African American culture is one that is totally new. During the slave days the masters did there best to strip it from the slaves. over time it has become more of the american culture. for example Blues music is where rock and roll came from.
