i have a tree in my back yard that has a lot of dead needles around the base of the tree and it has more dead needles on the branches i know it still alive because it has tons of green needles but sap it dripping down the trunk. Is my tree dying or sick? or is it just a thing that happens in the fall?

Sounds like a weevil or a borer. This type of insect will kill your tree or severely disfigure it. Get some Bayer Advanvced Systemic Tree and Shrub Insect Killer. The active ingredient is Imidocloprid or something like that. You mix it in a bucket and pour it around the root zone as instructed on the bottle.

a fur tree?? like a rabbit?? fir trees are susceptible to the pine weevil,,,this bug burrows into the trees and slowly kills off the ends of branches until there are no more needles and the tree dies.. you need to spray for these beetles now!!! ask at your local co-op, feed and seed store ,, ag center etc
