It sounds like the drumbeat before we went into Iraq.

I think it (Bush/Cheney) will invade Iran - that has been it's goal ever since taking office. The fact that they have Iran totally surrounded, that oil (and gold) prices are soaring, the saber-rattling and accusations, the refusal to talk directly, and the media hype all point to an impending invasion. Pathetic...

No, the situation is entirely different. At the time we went into Iraq there was very credible evidence of active support for Al-qaida, and a chemical/biological weapons program. Most of that evidence dated from reports as far back as 1997, showing a clear pattern that indicated a major threat.
None of that applies to Iran, their position is closer to that of N. Korea. They are trying to obtain a capability, rather than already possessing and using it.
Remember, Al-qaida terrorists had been training in Iraq for at least five years at the time we invaded, including the teams that carried out the embassy bombings in the '90's.
While there have been Iranian ties to numerous terrorist organizations, none have been directly linked to attacks against U.S. targets, and they haven't shown an existing chemical/biological/nuclear weapons capability.

The forces are unfold too thinly as that's in Iraq. there is not sufficient time left in his administration to withdraw from Iraq and attack Iran. in spite of the fact that if there become 2 different themes stand interior the way. a million. The withdrawl from Iraq would be seen as Bush backing down. for the reason that he's extremely ego pushed that's confusing to make certain him agreeing to that and it could be very embarrassing and avert any public help for yet another warfare. 2. The Democrat congress merely won't lower back him lower back.

I am hoping they simply don't have enough time to do it. This time they would have to operate without any Congressional approval, so they may not waste the time trying to get it. But the main reason I think they won't is that our military is so horribly overextended there's no way they could do it without pulling out of Iraq.

Don't think they will, but they don't need to because the Republican candidates are going to, and so are the Democrats. So much for freedom, when you have a choice between two nearly identical futures.
