If she wins the Democratic nomination, it will unite the Republican party like no other candidate would. I'm really scared that if she's nominated that the Republican party will win and we can look forward to 3+ more years in Iraq.

I can't agree more. We must keep any Republican out of office and if Hillary is the nominee it may very well secure another Republican presidency.

I absolutely agree that both Hillary and Bill Clinton are extremely divisive individuals. I would agree that she will certainly make the road more difficult for the Democrats.

But that said, this is not necessarily a legitimate question. Let's not forget that Mr. Bush is a similarly polarizing figure, and yet he was reelected in 2004.

The challenge will not be with Republicans--they have a tendency to unite around whomever is nominated. The challenge will rest with independents and there she has a ways to go. But it's not insurmountable. She had a similar task when she ran for Senate.

I think it's unwise to count her out...

Republicans are split. Right now the Christian right is making moves to split or nominate their own candidate. This fractures the republican party.

Just like Karl Rove did for Bush all Clinton needs is 50 percent plus 1 vote. The negatives on Hillary are 40 percent so she can still win without republican votes. She needs the moderates to swing her way and they too are against the war in IRAQ.

Oh who cares about republican passions? They mostly play out in public bathrooms and little boys underpants unfortunately. Look, they haven't got a candidate to get behind right now. They are totally defeated with nobody out there to rally them. So hating Hillary is not enough, you have to also have a candidate you want to fight for. In 2004, hating Bush was not enough for Dems, we needed a figure that we could really rally around and it didn't happen. Forget the pubs. They've had their day, and they ruined the economy, our social structure, our military, and our standing in the world. They are ready to step back a bit. I personally know of at least ten hard core 'pubs voting Hillary this time because they remember the Clinton years and the prosperity. They talk one thing, but when the curtain of the voting booth is closed, they will do anohter.

Because she's the most cheated-on woman in the world. V-I-C-T-I-M. So they think she deserves it. Kind of like the Republicans felt about Bob Dole--it was simply "his turn."

By the way, in the most recent Democrat debate, NONE of the leading presidential candidates would commit to removing the troops even by the END of their first term. We won't be out of Iraq for a long time...because it's a volatile region but we've got a footprint over there now.

Republicans who dismiss Hillary out of hand without listening to her are irrational and wouldn't vote democrat if the republican candidate was satan. That being said I hope hillary doesn't win the nomination, We actually have a couple of really good candidates this time and it would be a shame to bypass them for Hillary.

I am no longer going to vote republican. We former republicans are extremely upset with the people who call themselves prolife only until a child is born. 100 million Born orphans are of less value to republicans than those that haven't been born. Sending US jobs abroad to slavelike sweatshops where people work 16 hr days 7 days a week for pennies is NOT prolife. Start caring about the Born and less about profits and then us former Republicans may consider the party again.

If she wins we will still have 3+ more years in Iraq. Hillary stated that she wouldn't leave right away.

I hadn't thought about the fact that the GOP would rally even harder to beat Hillary. There's a good chance or that since they REALLY HATE HILLARY.

Thanks, dude! You just made my day! ANYBODY BUT HILLARY!

What difference does it make? Whomever wins the Democratic nomination is a shoe in. It's not even going to be close.

You forget that she will also have a VP on her ticket...

They can only stamp their feet so much per candidate...

Also, no one really cares what the Bush fanatics say anymore... let them be united in their hatred and prejudice... we have bigger things to deal with.

What can they really do? Impeach her for oral sex? I don't think the Clintons will fall into the same trap twice...
What was that Bush said about "fool me twice"?
