Probably a bit of a cliche, but "Creep" by Radiohead. By no means my favourite song of theirs, but it's the song that got me listening to them. That was about seven years ago, and I only recently decided that they are my favourite band (that's just how indecisive I am!).

PAHAHAHA I love that one!! Keith Moon reviews are THE nice. I like the only in which he used to be staying at a lodge with a curfew of two AM and he stayed out manner later than that. He got here again under the influence of alcohol as a skunk (so what is new) and the doorman would not allow him in. So Moonie takes one among his many lovely brief-lived autos, crashes it by way of the glass revolving door on the front and drives as much as the entrance table of the lodge and asks for the important thing to his room. I additionally like the only in which he floods an whole lodge flooring by way of busting water matresses. And his notorious "twenty first birthday" social gathering on the Holiday Inn. Okay, there demands to be a tale publication committed completely to the escapades and adventures of Keith Moon. That might be a hoot.

Band On The Run - Paul McCartney

This song just grabbed me when I first heard it. The three sections just blend together perfectly, and I still get chills when the horns and strings "explode" into the main part of the song. Plus this one song got me hooked on McCartney, which in turn lead to the discovery of tons of other bands. Actually, you could say this song sparked my interest in music.

When I first heard Pavement I heard Perfune-V and I remember thinking that I didn't realize people made music that sounded like that. I was starting to transition in my tastes from, I think the first time I heard Natural One by the Folk Implosion a lightbulb went off and everything started to change, but that song led me to the Pavement track and I've been a Pavement junkie ever since.

I saw the video for Dinosaur Jr's cover of The Cure's "Just Like Heaven" about 17 years ago on 120 Minutes. I loved the way they made the song their own and started buying more of their albums.

Side Note: I was just reading the other day that Robert Smith was so impressed with the cover that he started playing the Dino Jr. version when they would play it in concert.

"Hazy" by Built to Spill - I taped it off a local radio program and played it over and over...until I finally bought one of their CD's.

"Custom Concern" by Modest Mouse - I related to the lyrics a lot and fell in love with every other song on This Is a Long Drive...

"Don't Buy the Realistic" by Spoon - discovered this gem on a very inexpensive Matador Records Compilation. The rest is history.

As a small kid I just loved the bass guitar in the London Stage version LP of Jesus Christ Superstar. I'm not sure why but I was just captivated by it. I've been a bass guitarist for 30 plus years.

The live version of "Careful with that ax, Eugene on the Ummagumma album by Pink Floyd. (1968?). Listened to it on headphones in the dark. Scared the crap out of me.
