The car started up fine, but now every so often it just dies on me while driving, everthing electrical goes off as well. once i turn the key off and back on it starts back up and runs ok. this did not happen until after yesterday, the battery is about 2 years old

Once the engine is running, the battery doesn't even have to be there. And if the battery was dead you sure wouldn't be able to restart it.
You just deprogrammed the engine computer when the battery died. It will reprogram itself as you drive. Give it a few days and it will be fine.

Even a brand new car battery can suffer permanent irreversible internal structural damage, if the battery is allowed to run down. As a result, the battery can't "hold" a full charge -- which means that it will run down very quickly, forever afterward. This might be your problem.

It's also possible that some electrical connections were loosened when the dead battery was recharged. It's worth checking the connections to the battery terminals.

Good luck with your car.
