You will destroy the printer.

Why not get a refill kit and refill the black container? At least then you would have black ink, although the container won't last as long as a new one.

No. Even if the cartridges are the same size, which is true in for some models, the information sent to the printer by the computer would not correctly interpretthe text color information so you could easily get a purple or bluish tint to our text, if anything comes out at all. In fact, you could also damage or misalign the the printer head. There is a reason why the black cartidge goes in one spot and the color one in the other. The color cartridge requires different pressure from the print head and placing a color cartridge in the place that is inteded for the black cartride would cause either excessive ink being used or not enough, in either case, you would not get black.

I don't think so. If you had 2 color ink jets, where eould the black be? Let's say you're printing a picture that you took at night. There may be orange (street lights), some green (Stop-go lights), but no black or white (white being if there's a statue in the picture) because there's no B&W ink jet.

get a refilling kit and refill the black ink cartridge with color ink. Might work but its just an idea. If ur gonna do it test it first. Or save the couple of bucks and just have color and black.

i dont really know about that but what i do know is if you put both color you wont be able to print anything that will use black ink and you printer will get confused about two color inks. so just go and buy a black cartilage. dont take any chances with ruining your printer

No, because one of them is already set to be a black ink and the other a color ink.

If your printing text you can just put 1 color in there and make the color of the text navy blue and it will work.

It wouldn't fit! Just buy one of those cheap ink refilling kits and refill your old BW one. They work great as long as you do it before it dries out too much.

Try putting the color one in the cradle where the black one goes. You will see it won't fit. If it happens to fit then try her out.
