That totally depends on what you are told what you can't do. You can't jump across the Grand Canyon is good advice, as well as "never put something smaller than your elbow" in your ear. If someone says something like "you can't do math because your a girl", tell them to go to hell.

They're nothing like a challenge to make me try even harder at whatever it is.
Like years ago my boyfriend bet me I couldn't get a jog on the radio and I ended up not only a D.J. but a Program Director too. ...but I lost the guy. There's a lesson in there somewhere.

It depends like do they mean you can't do it because it's breaking the rules or you can't do it because they think you can't you should stay out of trouble or you should prove them wrong and don't let anyone bring you down

I agree... It depends on what it is. If it's something that can harm you, listen to them. If somebody tells you that you can't paint, write, play ball, design dresses or whatever, prove them wrong by doing it and doing it well.

depends on what they are saying that I can't do. if it's something really stupid, then no, i don't do it and see if they can! LOL! but if it's something that I know I can do and will do, then yes, I do it. sometimes it's great proving someone wrong!

Depends on your meaning, as in no you don't have permission to do that, or no you can't do that because you are ________ not old enough/not experienced enough/etc.
So if your answer is you can't do something because you don't have permission to ~ you don't do it.
That's called life.
The other no you can't because ___________is only a matter of what you think you can.
"Whether you think you can do a thing or not, you are right"

It depends on what the person is talking about and who says it.
If it's someone I respect or they have a solid reason, I listen.
If they're complete idiots, I do whatever I please. I don't take orders from smug, ignorant as.sholes.

Sometimes. It depends on what it is, and if the person had a good reason for telling you not to do it.
