Politically, the Republican party is more similar to the ideology of the Nazis (who were fascists). Republicans are considered to be on the "right wing" of the political spectrum. At the far extreme right wing is fascism.

Democrats are considered to be on the "left wing" of the political spectrum. At the far left of the spectrum is socialism/communism.

Traditionally, Republicans have been against abortion and gay rights and have supported a strong military, censorship, fiscal responsibility and lower taxes. However, the party has gotten away from these "traditional family values" over the past decade or so.

Democrats have traditionally favored abortion, gay rights and free speech. But they have opposed increasing military spending, and they often are the driving force behind higher taxes.

Neither party is perfect -- that's for sure. I only hope that we can elect more moderate Republicans and Democrats who can work together to find solutions to the country's problems.

Right now, partisanship is preventing our elected leaders from making much progress on anything.

Great question. Republicans are in control currently, so republican. Bush's securing oil in Iraq has resulted in 1 million people killed, while he and his friends' profits are at record highs. Bush, isn't life more important than profits? Shame, Shame. Combine the Republican War's kill rate in the past 20 years while invading countries and we are likely to get to Hitler's kill rate.
