Sorry to jump into this (since I am not a lady!), but...buying balloons to girls/women...no way jose! I don't see what message that would send to the woman I love! I don't find it romantic either, and you buy balloons to kids for xmas! Big NO NO NO

That would be really cute :) I keep the deflated balloons tacked onto the walls of my closet. It's better to get the huge foil like ones that don't shrink when they run out of air.
Buy a bear or something with it : ) or a bracelet.

no because he sucks in the helium and sings in a funny voice...very annoying after a while. only cute for SO long
