I have to go with George A Romero's Night of the Living Dead

"they're coming to get you Barbara"

I actually got to see it on the big screen last night. All filmed in Pittsburgh btw.

Hey, when you guys say Dawn of the Dead, be a bit more specific like Anthony was. I'll assume you mean Romero's version since he's a god

Just 1 favorite? Don't think I can do it. "Zombie" is excellent as is "Night of the Living Dead". I also love Romero's "Dawn of the Dead" and "Day of the Dead". The remake of "Dawn of the Dead" was also very good and "28 Days Later" was the best modern zombie movie. "Shaun of the Dead" is an amazing comedy/zombie movie. Peter Jackson's "DeadAlive" may be the goriest and is quite funny. I also love "Return of the Living Dead" for kitsch factor. I loved "Army of Darkness" and "Evil Dead I & II" but I'm not sure they are zombie movies per se although I guess they would qualify. I can tell you the worst zombie movie ever, it is called "Flesh Eating Mother" and it is hilarious if you ever get a chance to see it. Troma's release of low budget "Redneck Zombies" is also hilarious. So yes I have seen a few zombie movies.

The zombie movies i tend to like are the ones that concentrate on the human reaction to zombie's instead of the zombies themselves while still having a good amount of Zombie footage (otherwise it wouldn't be a zombie film )

So the more serious one I like are

28 Days Later - Lots's of zombies, but you get a GOOD view of the drama among the living

Night of the Living Dead (1968) - probably the best

and of the campy ones I say 'Shaun of the dead' and 'Return of the living dead'

Toss up, Romero's Dawn of the Dead, or Land of the Dead, I loved them both.

I'm thinking about making a zombie movie. Not sure about the title but a few that occurred to me are "escape from the contacts box" and "night of the living network" The theme is the usual, rancid semi decomposed German pursues scantily clad maidens through the streets of Berlin moaning I want to eat your brain (that's what I call a meagre diet).

28 days later at least portrayed a somewhat realistic scenario for that type of dilemma. For humor, I vote for Return of the Living Dead.

I liked the new version of Dawn of the Dead. Those zombies ran fast as hell, and the necrosis was progressive, which was a nice detail.

Also, it made my wife paranoid for weeks, and I think it even made her throw up.
