Don't get me wrong folks - I absolutely adore Joan Jett, but Tommy James version is just sexy ...reoww!

I like the original, but I'm also a fan of the Deadsy cover.

Edit - rockets, you're right. It's typically labeled Deadsy ft. Cher on the net and I knew it wasn't on a Deadsy album, so I just figured it was on some random soundtrack. Now that I actually looked into it I see it's officially Cher and Elijah and it was on the A Walk on the Moon soundtrack. Thanks for bringing that to my attention, either way... I like that cover.

I'm not a huge fan of oldies radio so it's an easy choice: Joan Jett.

BC - I don't think Deadsy ever did this song. Wasn't that a duet with Elijah and mama Cher?

MachPen - Tommy James and "reoww" just don't seem to go together. Mullet, voice no difference. He doesn't exactly float my boat. :)

I love it by Tommy James. I've never heard it sung by Joan Jett, but I'm doubting that it is better than the original.

That's not a fair question :>( I like them both. I have to say that the original of a song is always better, although there have been exceptions over the years. I like Hendrix's version of "All Along the Watchtower" better than Dylan's.
I guess my answer is Tommy James.

The original Classic of "Crimson & Clover" by "Tommy James".

Tommy James hit me in my formative teen years, so that will always be the one for me!
That one and "I Think We're Alone Now."

I love tommy james and the shondells. Jarvis cocker samples crimson and clover on one of his songs on his new record.

Love the original version, this is one of those songs that I believe should never have been made into a cover by anyone.

It's a close one, but Joan's sultry voice makes me feel all fuzzy inside and makes me want to...........um er, never mind, I'll just say the cover.
